Chris Anarumo joined the Wagner football staff ahead of the 2025 season.
A Staten Island native, Anarumo spent the past four years as a student assistant coach with the West Virginia University football program. Since 2021, he contributed to the development and success of the Mountaineers through roles with the safeties, running backs, and tight ends.
For the past two seasons, Anarumo served as the Tight Ends Student Assistant, where he conducted opponent breakdowns and self-scout reports, led position meetings with developmental players, assisted with on-field drills, and signaled for the offense during practices and games. His efforts played a role in the development of standout tight end Kole Taylor, a 2023 Second Team All-Big 12 selection, and in WVU’s 2023 Duke’s Mayo Bowl championship.
In 2022, Anarumo worked as the Running Backs Student Assistant, managing opponent breakdowns, developmental meetings, and on-field drill preparation. He began his tenure with the Mountaineers in 2021 as the Safeties Student Assistant, where he was responsible for charting defensive plays, preparing self-scout reports, and assisting with position-specific drills.
