Jason Jurgens enters his seventh season on staff and his first as the Director of Baseball Operations. Jurgens previously served as an assistant coach and worked with the outfielders, hitters and catchers.
Since coming to the Seahawks he has solidified the Green & White defense and offense while helping Wagner to four NEC Tournaments, the 2009 Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship and a school-record 31 wins in 2009.
In 2009, he help spearhead a Seahawk offense that batted .313, a year after posting a .251 average. Additionally, Vin Avella broke the school single-season and career home run record while eight regulars hit at least .300.
Before arriving on Staten Island, Jurgens spent two years guiding the North Platte Junior Legion team to extremely successful seasons.
The product of North Platte, NE was a two-year letter winner at Colorado St. - Pueblo (CSU-P), where he helped the Thunderwolves to an 85-33 record during his two seasons, including an NCAA Regional appearance in 2002. Jurgens was also an All-Academic honoree and was named team MVP and captain.
Before transferring to CSU-P, Jurgens attended Howard County Junior College in Big Spring, TX, earning team MVP honors while serving as a captain.
He earned his MBA from Wagner and his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from CSU-P in 2003. Jurgens resides on Staten Island with his wife, former Wagner soccer standout Juli (Baranello) Jurgens and their daughters.
