Former Rowan University standout and New Jersey resident Gina Catanzariti joined the Seahawk family in August, 2012 and is entering her second season as an assistant on the Wagner coaching staff.
“Gina is someone who has been a part of the grassroots basketball scene since she graduated from Rowan, where she was a terrific player,” Cermignano said. “She has developed a lot of relationships in this time and is a highly-organized, highly-energized person. She helps us in the areas that we need, to allow us move forward, and really take this program to another level.”
A four-year starter at Rowan, Catanzariti scored more than 1,000 points in her collegiate career. Following graduation, she served as a volunteer assistant varsity girls basketball coach at Washington Township High School in Sewell, NJ, helping lead the Minutemen to a 27-4 record while working under Jennifer Natale, the 2011-2012 Philadelphia Inquirer Coach of the Year.
In February 2012, Catanzariti joined the BlueStar Basketball/ U.S Junior Nationals organization in Philadelphia, PA, serving as Administrative Assistant. Catanzariti also played a fundamental role as an administrator with the Philadelphia AAU Belles as well as serving as an assistant coach for the Belles’ U-16 team.
Catanzariti was a scholastic star at South Jersey’s Cinnaminson High School before continuing her education and playing career at Rowan. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Rowan’s Rohrer School of Business, graduating Cum Laude with a 3.619 GPA and was also a member of the Golden Key International and Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Societies.
Catanzariti is pursuing a Masters of Business Administration.
