2017-18 (Senior Year): Competed in four outdoor meets for the Seahawks in 2017-18... Placed third in the javelin at the VCU Ram Invite (March 16-17), with a mark of 43.92m... Placed among the top-ten at the Sam Howell Invitational (April 6), with a toss of 45.91m... At the 2018 METS Outdoor Track & Field Championships, produced his best throw of the season, finishing in seventh place with a throw of 49.44m... At the 2018 Northeast Conference (NEC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, finished tenth in the javelin with a finals mark of 45.54m.

Before Wagner: Attended Staten Island Academy... Played baseball all four years while playing two years of basketball and soccer... Was awarded the Huss Award (Outstanding Mal Athlete) his senior year... Earned the Coach's Award for both baseball and basketball in his final year... Selected to the National Honor Society in his junior and senior seasons... On the diamond, he batted .310 his junior season and .340 his senior year... Was part of the Tigers' ACIS Baseball Championship team in his freshman season... Son of Arthur and Jackie Smarsch... Has one sibling, Matthew... Pursuing a Master's Degree in Business Administration with concentration in Finance.
