STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Wagner men's tennis will begin their fall season on Friday, Sept. 25 at the NEC Individuals in Vestal, New York. Binghamton will host the tournament at the Lane - Starke Tennis Center. This will be the first event for Wagner under new head coach Andy Goveia. 

The Seahawks are coming off their most successful season in program history in 2026, having captured their first ever NEC Championship, and their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament. 

Junior Eddie Schmidt became the first player in program history to earn NEC Player of the Year, while his doubles partner redshirt sophomore Lukas Escher earned Wagner's first-ever NEC Rookie of the Year award. 

Both Schmidt and Escher return to the Seahawks for 2026-27, as well as juniors Vibhu Challagundla, and Joshua Zhao. 

The Green & White also added two players out of the transfer portal. Sophomore Nicola Bottelberghs joins Wagner from DII Barton College, and Tyler Nguyen joins from Monmouth.
