STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Wagner men's tennis team dropped their match against Norfolk State on Saturday, losing the contest 4-3.

The Seahawks started the match well, as they took the doubles point with two 7-5 wins. Sophomore Eddie Schmidt and redshirt freshman Lukas Escher evened the round at one win apiece after the loss on court 2, then senior Sebastian Dobson and graduate student Tom Lamers secured the doubles point with their win on court 3.

However, only Schmidt and Lamers were able to take their momentum into the singles round. But Norfolk State came back and won the four other singles matches, including two where the Spartans came back from set 1 loss to take the match. By the time the last match of the night was played, the team score was tied at 3-3; the Spartans came back to win that match, and won the entire match 4-3.

The Seahawks will return to the courts on Sunday, March 22nd, when they hit the road and take on the George Mason Patriots at the GMU Tennis Courts. First serve will be at 2 p.m.
