STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Wagner men's tennis team ended their losing streak on Monday, when they defeated Mount St. Mary's at home 4-3.
It didn't look good for the Seahawks at the end of the doubles round. After losing on court 2 and winning on court 3, the doubles match on court 1 became the rubber match. Sophomore
Eddie Schmidt and redshirt freshman
Lukas Escher held double match point at five games to four, but couldn't hold the lead and ultimately lost the match entirely, leaving Wagner behind 1-0.
Schmidt and Escher both avenged their loss in the singles round, each with straight-set wins on courts 1 and 2 respectively. Graduate student
Tom Lamers and senior
Pablo Rodriguez Gonzalez each lost their singles match, giving the Mountaineers a 3-2 advantage. In the last two singles matches of the day, sophomores
