This Week in Wagner Athletics; Nine Teams in Action as Field Hockey Hosts Quinnipiac on Sunday

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week. 
 

Field Hockey 

- Wagner travels to Saint Francis U to compete in its fifth straight conference game on Friday, October 3 in Loretto, PA. Opening pass back is set for 3 p.m.

- The Seahawks then host Big East member Quinnipiac on Sunday, October 5 at the Wagner College Field Hockey Complex for a noon start against the Bobcats. 

 

Men's Cross Country 

- The Seahawks hit the road to compete in Lehigh's Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Friday, October 3. 

- The Paul Short Run, held on Lehigh's campus at the Goodman Course, is the largest intercollegiate cross country race in the nation. 

- Graduate Justin Morris was named NEC Prime Performer after the Seahawks' last meet, clocking in a 25:35.50 time in the 8.2K to finish sixth.

 

Men's Golf 

- The Seahawks will be traveling to West Orange, NJ on Friday, October 1 for St. Peter's Dual Match at Charleston Springs South Golf Course.

 

Men's Tennis 

- Wagner plays host to Holy Cross on Saturday, October 4 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushings, NY. 

- The Seahawks then travel to Lafayette to take on the Leopard on Sunday, October 5 on the Leopard Courts.

 

Men's Water Polo 

- The Green & White travels to Claremont, CA to compete in the Gary Troyer Tournament October 3 and October 4. 

- They will be competing against UC Irvine and Concordia University Irvine on Friday, October 3, and against Pomona-Pitzer and Chapman on Saturday, October 4.

 

Women's Cross Country 

- On the road after most recently competing at CCSU's Ted Owen Invite, Wagner will be on the road at Lehigh's Paul Short Run on Friday, October 3. 

- Last time out, junior Rylee Ferretti was named NEC Athlete of the Week for her ninth-place finish at the Ted Owen Invite, clocking in a 17:44.50 finish in the 5K. 

 

Women's Golf

- The Seahawks will continue to take part in the Autumn Harvest Invitational at the Architects Golf Club in Lopcatcong, NJ from Sunday, September 28 to Tuesday, September 30. 

 

Women's Tennis  

- Wagner plays host to Holy Cross on Saturday, October 4 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushings, NY. 

- The Seahawks then travel to Lafayette to take on the Leopard on Sunday, October 5 on the Leopard Courts.


Women's Soccer 

- Wagner hits the road to compete in North Easton, MA at Skyhawk Field, on Sunday, October 5.

- For the Seahawks, this will be their fifth conference game of the 2025 season.
