Staten Island, NY - Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week.
Baseball
- After a big weekend at home where the Seahawks swept UMES, baseball hits the road for a midweek contest on Tuesday, April 22 at LaFayette.
- From there, Wagner has its weekend Northeast Conference series at Mercyhurst. The Lakers are 8-13 in NEC play, coming off a 1-2 weekend where they dropped the series to FDU. Wagner is coming off its first run-rule win of the season, a 10-0, seven-inning shutout of the Hawks where junior Heitaro Hayashi threw a complete game.
Men's Golf
- Wagner will head to Williamsburg, VA for the 2025 NEC Championship. The event will take place at the Kingsmill Resort RIver Course.
- Last season, the Green & White finished eighth at the NEC Championship.
Men's Lacrosse
- The Seahawks will conclude its 2025 regular season at conference newcomer Mercyhurst on Saturday, April 26 at 11:00 am in Erie, PA.
- Most recently, sophomore Danny McMahon and freshman Sean Sanchez were named NEC Prime Performers for their outings against VMI last Saturday.
Men's Track & Field
- Coming off a weekend where Wagner competed at the Rider Relays, the men's team finished second at the Rider Relays with a 174 team score.
- The Seahawks will compete in the Penn Relays this weekend, beginning Thursday, April 24. This will be the team's final meet before the NEC Outdoor Tournament begins on May 3.
Softball
- The Green & White will play five-road games to complete their 2025 regular season campaign.
- Wagner will travel to Stony Brook for a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 23, with first pitches scheduled for 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
- The Seahawks will then travel to Loretto, PA for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 26 at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, before finishing off the series on Sunday, April 27 at noon.
Women's Lacrosse
- Wagner will conclude its 2025 regular season against NEC newcomer Mercyhurst on Saturday, April 26 at noon on Hameline Field, with the Wagner College women's lacrosse senior class of 2025 being honored thirty minutes before the opening draw control.
- Most recently, senior Angelina Skowronski was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week while senior Ella Marino earned Prime Performer honors for the second consecutive week for their showings against Howard last Saturday.
Women's Track & Field
- Coming off a second place finish at the Rider Relays where the team posted a 165 team score after putting up 28 top-ten finishes across the day, Wagner is heading to the Penn Relays this weekend for a three-day meet.
- This will be the final meet for the Seahawks before the NEC Outdoor Championships are held beginning May 3.
Women's Water Polo
- The Seahawks will enter the 2025 MAAC Championship as the top seed and will receive a bye in the opening round of the tournament. Wagner will await the winner of the No. 2 seed from the Blue Division, Iona, and the No. 3 seed from the Red Division, Villanova. That game will take place on Saturday, April 26 at 12:00 PM at McCann Natatorium in Poughkeepsie, NY, hosted by Marist University.
- The team has won 11 MAAC championships since 2003, more than any other school, including eight of the last 10 titles since 2014. Last season, Wagner finished with an impressive 30-5 record, going undefeated in MAAC play at 12-0 to capture their third consecutive MAAC Regular Season Championship.
