West Point, NY – The Wagner College men's tennis team came up short against Army this past weekend, wrapping up their regular season with a hard-fought match.

In doubles play, the Seahawks found success on court #1, where graduate students Carlos Rodriguez Gonzales and Gabriele Zugarelli teamed up for a 6-4 victory over the Black Knights. Despite the strong showing, Army secured the doubles point by winning on courts #2 and #3.

In singles action, freshman Eddie Schmidt delivered a standout performance on court #2, earning Wagner's first point of the match with a straight set win, 6-0, 7-5. While Schmidt notched the lone singles victory for the Seahawks, Army responded with wins on courts #1, #5, and #6. Matches on courts #3 and #4 went unfinished.

Next up, the Seahawks will compete in the Northeast Conference Tournament, beginning Thursday, April 17, and will end on Saturday, April 19.
