Port Washington, NYThe Wagner College men's tennis team came up short against NEC rival LIU 4-3 on Friday, April 11.

In doubles play, the Sharks secured the opening point by winning on courts #2 and #3, while court #1 went unfinished, giving them an early lead.

The Seahawks responded in singles action. Freshman Eddie Schmidt secured Wagner's first point with a three set victory (2-6, 7-6, 6-3). Junior Pablo Rodriguez followed suit with a strong performance, winning his match in three sets (7-5, 3-6, 6-2). Graduate student Antoine Nivault added another point for the Green and White, claiming a straight sets win (6-0, 6-2).

Despite the momentum in singles play, Wagner fell short, dropping matches on courts #1, #4, and #5, which sealed the win for LIU.

The Seahawks will wrap up their season on Sunday, April 13, when they travel to West Point, NY to take on Army.
