The Seahawks got back to their winning ways in doubles points behind courts #1 and #3. Freshmen Eddie Schmidt and Damian Janiszewski put the Seahawks on the board first with a 6-1 win on court #3. Graduate students Carlos Rodriguez and Gabriele Zugarelli held on to protect an early lead and clinch the point, 6-4, at #1.

Wagner was dominant in singles play. Senior Jordan Hunte was the first off the court with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at #4. Janiszewski followed with his own straight set win, 6-2, 6-3. Schmidt clinched the overall match with a 6-1, 7-6 win at the #1 position.

Junior Pablo Rodriguez was resilient in his 4-6, 6-3, 12-10 win at #2. Freshman Josh Zhao was efficient at line #6, 6-0, 6-1. Freshman Vibhu Challagundla notched the final match of the day at #5, 6-3, 4-6, 10-6.

"I was very pleased with our team's grit in the cold, windy conditions." said Wagner's tennis head coach, Jeff Menaker. "We found solutions in a challenging environment. I can't  say enough about what Chuck and Gabri are doing at #1 doubles this season. It was also exciting to see Eddie Schmidt make his spring debut with wins in doubles and singles." 

The Seahawks get right back at it Sunday in Baltimore as they visit Morgan State in a match to be played at Goucher College's tennis courts at 2pm.
