This Week In Wagner Athletics; Eight Teams In Action As Men’s And Women’s Lacrosse Welcome NEC Opponents To Hameline Field

Staten Island, NY - Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week. 
 

Baseball

- The Seahawks will host a five-game home stretch this week for the second time this season, starting with a 3:30 pm first pitch on Tuesday, March 25 against St. John's. The Red Storm enter the midweek contest on a two-game win streak after winning a weekend series against Winthrop, who Wagner faced at the beginning of the month. 

- On Wednesday, the Green & White will play at 3:30 pm against Fordham. The Rams are coming off a weekend series win on the road at George Washington. 

- Beginning Friday March 28, the Seahawks return to Northeast Conference (NEC) play to host Stonehill. Friday's game will start at 3:00 pm, Saturday's game will be played at 1:00 pm, as the series will conclude with a noon game on Sunday. 

- The Skyhawks are currently 5-1 in NEC play, sitting in second place in the NEC behind CCSU. 
 

Men's Golf

- The Seahawks will compete at the Battle at Rum Pointe hosted by Iona on Friday, March 28 to Saturday, March 30 in Berlin, MD at Rum Pointe Seaside Links.

- Last week at the Carpetbagger Classic, Wagner placed fifth among 16 competing teams.
 

Men's Lacrosse

- The Seahawks will host Northeast Conference (NEC) member LIU on Friday, March 28 on Hameline Field. Opening face-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm.

- Saturday's game with LIU marks the penultimate home game of the 2025 season, as the Seahawks will host VMI for their 'Senior Day' on Saturday, April 19 at 3:00 pm on Hameline Field.
 

Men's Tennis

- The Seahawks will be heading to Teaneck, NJ to take on the NEC rival FDU on Friday, March 28. First serve will be at 2:00 pm.

- Wagner will also face-off against NEC newcomer Mercyhurst on Sunday, March 30. First serve is set for 11:00 am.
 

Softball

- The Seahawks will hit the road for a double header on Tuesday, March 25 for a non-conference doubleheader against Seton Hall.

- First pitch against the Pirates is set for 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

- The Green & White will then head to Teaneck, NJ to face-off against NEC rival FDU for a doubleheader on Saturday, March 29th.

- First pitch against the Knights is set for 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

- Wagner and FDU will finish off the series on Sunday, March 30 with a noon first pitch.
 

Women's Golf

-The Seahawks will compete at The Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay in Grasonville, MD from Saturday, March 29 to Sunday, March 30.

- Last week, the Green & White defeated St. Joseph's, 332-404, in a duel match in Woodstown, NJ.
 

Women's Lacrosse

- The Seahawks will welcome two conference opponents to Hameline Field this week.

- On Wednesday, March 26, Wagner will host LIU at 6:00 pm before taking on FDU on Saturday, March 29 at noon.

- Most recently, the Green & White defeated SFU, 11-5, in Loretto, PA back on March 22.

- Graduate student Ryan Murphy earned the conference's Defensive Player of the Week honor after collecting four ground balls, four draw controls, and causing a career-best four turnovers at Saint Francis U on Saturday.
 

Women's Tennis

- The Seahawks will be heading to Teaneck, NJ to take on NEC rival FDU on Friday, March 28.  - First serve is scheduled for 2:00 pm.

- Wagner will take on NEC newcomer Mercyhurst on Sunday, March 30. 

- First serve is scheduled for 11:00 am.
