Trumbull, CT - The Wagners Men's Tennis Team got its first road victory of the season with a 4-3 win over former NEC rival, Sacred Heart on Friday night.
Graduate Carlos Rodriguez and Gabriele Zugarelli combined for a win at the #1 doubles position with a 6-3 victory over Sacred Heart. Senior Jordan Hunte and junior Pablo Rodriguez, clinched the doubles point with their own 6-3 win at #3. Graduate Antoine Nivault and freshman Damian Janiszewski dropped a close set at #2 4-6.
In singles, Hunte secured a win in two sets (7-5, 6-3) while freshman Vibu Challagundla and Janiszewski were also winners. Janiszewski fought to comeback from a set down (5-7,6-1,6-2) while Challagundla got the clincher, (6-1, 4-6, 7-6).Â

He lived over in Danbury and spent many years as a football coach and assistant athletic director at Wagner.
