Staten Island, NY - The Wagner Men's Tennis Team kicked off its spring season with a home contest against BYU of the Big 12 Conference. Despite a Seahawk win at #1 doubles, BYU took the other two doubles sets and the overall match 7-0.

The 6-3 win at #1 doubles for graduate students Carlos Rodriguez and Gabriele Zugarelli was not enough as the Cougars took the #2 and #3 doubles lines by the same 6-3 score. For singles, unfortunately the Seahawks were unable to secure a win.

"There were several encouraging things to take away from today's match… There's plenty to learn from today and we'll have a chance to turn it around right away with a match tomorrow," Head Tennis Coach Jeff Menaker said.

The Seahawks hit the road on Friday, February 7 to take on Sacred Heart at the Tennis Club Trumbull at 8pm.
