EASTON, Pa. — The Wagner College men's tennis team moved to 2–0 on the season with a 5-2 dual match victory at Lafayette College. The Seahawks swept the doubles point and picked up four straight singles victories in the win.

Eddie Schmidt and freshman
Lukas Escher won every game in their match in 1st doubles, while graduate students
Tom Lamers and
Gabriele Zugarelli clinched the point with a 6-2 win in 2nd doubles. Senior
Pablo Rodriguez Gonzalez and sophomore
Joshua Zhao added a 6-4 win at #3 to complete the doubles sweep.
In singles, Schmidt took the #1 match 6-3, 7-6 (2). Schmidt is now 5-1 in singles competitions this fall after a two-win weekend in dual matches.
Through the rest of the singles matches, Escher, Lamers, and Rodriguez all won in straight sets. The Leopards took matches on courts 5 & 6 to bring the final tally to 5-2 for Wagner.
The Seahawks return to action on Friday and Saturday, October 10 & 11 at the Fordham Invitational in Rose Hill, Bronx, New York.
