Women’s Soccer Blanks Delaware State on the Road, 1–0

DOVER, Del. — The Wagner College women's soccer team continued its strong conference form with a 1–0 road victory over Delaware State on Sunday afternoon at Drass Field.

With the win, the Seahawks improved to 7–2–6 overall and 6–1–2 in NEC play, while the Hornets fell to 6–9–3 (4–5–1 NEC).

Wagner struck early in the 11th minute as junior midfielder Alana Goldsmith converted from the penalty spot to give the Seahawks a 1–0 advantage. The goal marked Goldsmith's third of the season and proved to be the game-winner.

The Seahawks controlled possession throughout the match, outshooting the Hornets 14–7 while holding a 6–2 edge in shots on target. Goldsmith led the attack with two shots on goal, while sophomore forward Anayah Rivera added two more attempts—both on target.
Sophomore goalkeeper Abigail Marcello picked up the shutout, recording two saves in the win.

With two matches remaining in the regular season, Wagner sits tied for second in the NEC with Howard ahead of the four-team NEC Tournament.

The Seahawks are back in action on Thursday, October 30, traveling to face conference newcomer New Haven at 6:00 p.m. in West Haven, Conn.
