Men’s Tennis Participates In Weather-Condensed Fordham Four Invitational Tournament

The Bronx, NY - The men's tennis team took part in the Fordham Invitational Invitational, which welcomed Hofstra and Queens College, at the Hawthorne-Rooney Tennis Courts on Friday, September 27.

Originally, the Fordham Invite was scheduled to be a two-day event but was shortened to one day due to inclement weather.

The Seahawks faced Fordham in singles before Hofstra and Queens in doubles.

In singles play, Wagner and Fordham each took three matches, with graduate student Carlos Rodriguez Gonzalez, and freshmen Eddie Schmidt, and Vibhu Challagundla winning matches for the Green and White.

In doubles competition, Schmidt and Pablo Rodriguez Gonzalez continued to impress for the Seahawks, winning each of their matches together against Hofstra and Queens.

The Ludwigsburg, Germany native, Eddie Schmidt was the lone Seahawk not to lose a match at the Fordham Invite.

Next up, Wagner is set to compete at the Flushing Meadows Park in Queens. This match will count as the Seahawks' first home match of the season as they welcome Holy Cross in a dual match.
