Binghamton, NY - Over the weekend, the men's tennis team participated in the NEC Indiividual Tournament, hosted for the first time during the fall semester.

The tournament is arranged into multiple brackets between the various positions in the tennis rotation competing against their counterparts at the other NEC schools.

The individual winners of each bracket will be selected to represent the Northeast Conference at Intercollegiate Tennis Association Master's in San Diego, CA at the end of the fall season.

Carlos Rodriguez Gonzalez and Eddie Schmidt each competed in the A Singles Draw. Each lost the inaugural match of the tournament, removing them from consideration for the tournament, yet they each won their next match in the back draw.

Pablo Rodriguez Gonzalez won his first match as part of the C Singles Draw but eventually retired from the 3rd place match.

The best performing Seahawk in the Singles Draws was senior returner Jordan Hunte who placed 2nd in the G Singles Draw. winning his first two matches before eventually falling in the final in two sets.

In the A Doubles draw, the pairing of Carlos Rodriguez Gonzalez and Eddie Schmidt managed to win three straight matches after dropping their first, only losing six games in the final three sets. Their three straight wins were good enough to win them the entire back draw for A Doubles.

Gabriele Zugarelli and Sebastian Dobson placed third in the C Doubles Draw after receiving a first round bye.

Next weekend, the Seahawks will make the short trip to The Bronx, NY to participate in the Fordham Invitational Tournament.
