Bridgewater, NJ - Five members of the Wagner College indoor track and field teams earned major awards, while head coach Joe Stasi and his staff earned indoor coaching staff of the year, the Northeast Conference (NEC) announced today.
Stasi and his Seahawks made it a four-peat on the men's side at this year's indoor conference championship. Earning their first-ever indoor title in 2020, Wagner became the first men's program to win four straight since LIU turned the trick from 2014 to 2017.
During that same stretch, the Seahawks claimed outdoor titles in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Wagner cleaned up shop in the jumps events, earning two gold and four silver medals. Additionally, the Seahawks received a boost in the distance, mid-distance and throws, with two first-place finishes and a pair of second-place showings.
The Seahawks won three additional major awards with junior
Ryan Lane taking home Most Outstanding Field Performer in the jumps, sophomore Christopher Millilo winning Co-Most Outstanding Field Performer in the throws and freshman
Jack Mason claiming Most Outstanding Rookie Performer honors.
On the women's side freshman June Fernandez was named the Most Outstanding Rookie Performer, while junior Ruth-Ann Chambers was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer in the sprints.
