Fairfax, VA - Members of the Wagner College women's and men's track & field programs competed at the 147th running of the IC4A Championship and the 48th running of the ECAC Championship, from Friday, May 11 to Saturday, May 12 at George Mason University.
For the women's team, junior Ruth-Ann Chambers and junior Janee' Patterson placed in third and sixth in the 400m hurdles, respectively. Chambers finished with a time of 59.96 while Patterson crossed the finish line in 1:01.93.
Chambers finished less than one second off the first place mark in the event.
A week removed from winning the conference crown in the 3000m Steeplechase, junior Gia Comerford placed third in the same event over the weekend. The Staten Island native finished with a time of 10:45.42.
Sophomore Laura Trenado placed 10th in the 1500m run, out of 25 finishers, with a time of 4:37.53.
Most Outstanding Rookie of the 2024 Northeast Conference Outdoor track & field Championships June Fernandez earned 11th in the 200m dash with a time of 25.31.
Freshman Magui Calvo-Jorge rounded out the Seahawks participants with a 16th place finish in the 800m dash. Calvo-Jorge's time was 2:14.26.
As for the men's side, senior Jason Marchese took home the best finish for the Green & White. Marchese placed fifth in the 400m dash, out of 35 finishers, clocking in a time of 47.22.
Sophomore Alex Taddeo finished 12th in the semifinal round of the 100 dash with a time of 10.87. Taddeo also placed 14th in the 200m dash with a time of 21.93.
Sophomore Dante Rodney ran a personal-best in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.61. Rodney came away with 16th in the event.
In the field, freshman Jack Mason and senior Ryan Lane placed in fourth and eighth, respectively, in the long jump. Mason cleared a mark of 7.08m while Lane's best distance came at the distance of 6.85m.
Junior Kharlin Watkins also took part in the long jump, earning 15th with a mark of 6.59m. Watkins also participated in the high jump where he received 10th with a height of 1.93m.
Next up, select members of the track & field program will participate at the NCAA Division 1 East Preliminary Round in Lexington, KY from Thursday, May 23 to Saturday, May 25.
