This Week In Wagner Athletics; Four Teams In Action As Track & Field Gears Up For NEC Championships

Staten Island, NY - Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week.

Women's Lacrosse

- Wagner will travel to Fairfield, CT to take on Sacred Heart in the NEC semifinal. The contest between the Seahawks and Pioneers is a rematch of the 2023 NEC title game, Sacred Heart earned an 8-7 victory.
- This is the sixth consecutive season the Seahawks are in the NEC semifinal.
- Wagner earned a 13-11 win over Le Moyne in the NEC quarterfinal on Sunday. Sophia Colver and Kelsey Scheidel led the way for Wagner with three goals each.

Baseball
- The Seahawks will play their penultimate non-conference contest on Wednesday when they travel to Bethlehem, PA, to take on Lehigh at 3:00 pm. They will then host Sacred Heart for a three-game series this weekend at Jim Hynes Stadium at Kean University in Union, NJ. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 3:00 pm. Saturday's start time is at 7:00 pm, and Sunday's game will begin at noon.
- The NEC foes are currently in a three-way tie with LIU for first place in the conference.
- Wagner sits at .500 for the first time this season after sweeping UMES this past weekend. After starting 0-11, the Green & White have rattled off 21 victories over their last 31 contests to move to 21-21 on the season. They are currently 18-6 in NEC play.

Softball
- The Seahawks will host FDU in a doubleheader Saturday, May 4 at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. Senior day will be held on Sunday, May 5 as Wagner will complete the FDU series with a single game starting at 12:00 PM. 
- Last time out, the Seahawks dropped three games against Saint Francis U with scores of 5-1, 4-0, and 7-1. 

Track & Field
- The Seahawks will contend for the 2024 Northeast Conference (NEC) Outdoor track & field Championships at CCSU from Thursday, May 5 to Saturday, May 7. 
- Last time out, Wagner competed at the 129th annual Penn Relays in which the men's side set season-best times in the 4x100m, 4x200m, and 4x800m relays.
