Staten Island, NY - Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week.
Men's Lacrosse
- The Seahawks will travel to Fairfield, CT to take on Sacred Heart on Saturday st 12:00 pm.
- Last week, Wagner dropped two conference contests as they fell to LIU and Siena.
Women's Lacrosse
- Wagner will host two games this week as they will wrap up non-conference play on Wednesday when they welcome Columbia on Wednesday at 6:00 pm. Then, the Seahawks will welcome Stonehill on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
- Last week, Wagner split two NEC contests as they fell to LIU before defeating Howard.
- Senior Kelsey Scheidel scored a career-high six goals at Howard, earning her a second NEC Prime Performer honor this season.
Baseball
- Head coach Craig Noto's squad is set to host NJIT on Wednesday at 7:00 pm. They will follow that midweek contest up with a three-game series against Norfolk State in Trenton, NJ, at Trenton Thunder Ballpark. Friday will be the series opener, which is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
- After taking the series at preseason favorites CCSU last weekend, the Seahawks dropped the final two games of their series versus Merrimack this past weekend. The pair of losses dropped the Green & White to 9-3 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play and second on the leaderboard behind Sacred Heart.
Softball
- The Seahawks will travel to Brooklyn, NY to take on LIU in a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 2 at 1:00 PM & 3:00 PM before completing the series with a single game on Wednesday, April 3 at 3:00 PM.
- Wagner will head to North Easton, MA for three games against Stonehill on Saturday, April 6 at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM and on Sunday, April 7 at 12:00 PM.
- Last time out, the Seahawks lost three games in a conference series against Merrimack Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30.
Women's Water Polo
- Wagner will travel to Villanova, PA to face-off against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) opponents LIU and Iona at the Pavilion Pool.
- The Seahawks dropped their fourth match of the season last Thursday against the #16 Princeton Tigers in a 13-12 OT loss in New Jersey.
- Junior Carlota Alonso netted four goals against Princeton as the conference's current Offensive Player of the Week.
Track & Field
- The Green & White will head to Williamsburg, VA for the Colonial Relays from Friday, April 5 to Saturday, April 6.
- Last time out, Wagner split as a portion of the program competed at the Monmouth Invite as junior Gia Comerford and graduate student Dominic Palermo participated in the Sam Howell Invite.
- At Sam Howell, Comerford placed third in the 3000m Steeplechase with a personal-best time of 10:47.32.
Women's Golf
- After opening its spring season this past weekend at the Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay, Wagner will take on Monmouth in a dual match on Tuesday. The last time the two met was on October 17 in Colts Neck, NJ, at Trump National, where the Hawks picked up a 4-1 victory over the Seahawks.
- On Sunday, the Seahawks will begin the two-day FDU Knights Invitational at Crystal Springs Golf Club in Hamburg, NJ.
Women's Tennis
- The Seahawks will travel to Brookville, NY to take on LIU Friday, April 5 before hosting Monmouth for a match on Saturday, April 6.
- Last time out, Wagner fell to Lafayette with a score of 2-4 on Friday, March 29.
Men's Tennis
- The Seahawks will travel to Brookville, NY to take on LIU on Friday, April 5 before hosting Navy for a match on Saturday, April 6.
- Last time out, the Seahawks fell to Hofstra with a score of 0-7 Sunday, March 31.
