This Week In Wagner Athletics; 10 Teams In Action As Softball Hosts Home Opener

Staten Island, NY - Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week.

Men's Lacrosse
- The Seahawks will host two home games this week as they will welcome LIU on Wednesday at 3:00 pm before welcoming Siena to Hameline Field on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
- Last week, the Green & White fell 8-7 at Mount St. Mary's. The Seahawks are 1-8 overall and 1-2 in MAAC play.

Women's Lacrosse
- The Green & White will play two road games this week as they will travel to LIU on Wednesday at 3:00 pm before traveling to Howard on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
- Last week, Wagner fell 8-7 to Saint Francis U. The Seahawks are 2-5 overall and 2-1 in NEC play.

Baseball
- Wagner will take on Merrimack at SIUH Community Park from Thursday to Saturday this weekend. First pitch on Thursday is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
- The Seahawks are coming off of a 3-2 week, which included a series win over defending NEC champions CCSU in New Britain, CT. With the two wins over the Blue Devils, the Seahawks sit atop the NEC leaderboard at 8-1 to start conference play.

Softball
- The Seahawks will travel to Jersey City, NJ to take on St. Peters in a doubleheader Wednesday, March 27 at 1:00 PM & 3:00 PM. 
- The Green and White will host Merrimack Friday and Saturday, March 29-30 for its first home conference series. 
- Last time out, the Seahawks split a doubleheader at St. John's winning the first game with a score of 2-0 before falling with a score of 0-12. 

Women's Water Polo
- Wagner will face-off against #16 Princeton at the DeNunzio Pool on Thursday, March 28 at 6:30 pm.
- The Seahawks celebrated their 'Senior Day' on Saturday, March 27 in between wins against La Salle and Villanova.
- On Sunday, March 28, the Green & White also picked up two wins against VMI and #22 LIU separately at the LIU Pool in Brooklyn.

Men's Tennis
- Men's tennis will travel to Easton, PA to take on Lafayette Thursday, March 28 before facing Saint Francis Friday, March 29. 
- Last time out, the Seahawks fell to the University of Pennsylvania with a score of 0-4.   

Women's Tennis
- Women's tennis will travel to Easton, PA to take on Lafayette Thursday, March 28 before facing Saint Francis Friday, March 29. 
- Last time out, the Seahawks earned their second conference victory over Stonehill with a score of 5-2. 

Track & Field
- Wagner will split this upcoming weekend as members of the program will either compete at the Sam Howell Invite in Princeton, NJ from Friday, March 29 to Saturday, March 30, or the Monmouth Invite in West Long Branch, NJ from Friday, March 29 to March, Saturday, 30.  
- Last time out, athletes took part in either the UCF Knights Invite or the Oscar Moore Invite from Friday, March 22 to Saturday, March 23.
- Senior Anthony Bentivegna defeated 52 other runners in the 5000m to finish in first place with a time of 15:02.42 at the UCF Knights Invite.

Men's Golf
- The Green & White will compete at the Battle at Rum Pointe in Ocean City, MD, on Friday and Saturday.
- Last time out, graduate student Tyler Galantini tied for first place at the Carpetbagger Classic, earning NEC Prime Performer honors in the process.

Women's Golf
- Wagner will open its spring season at the Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay in Grasonville, MD. It will compete on Friday and Saturday.
