Men’s Tennis Drops Dual Matches To Stonehill And Norfolk State

New York, NY | Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College men's tennis team faced Stonehill and Norfolk State on Saturday, February 24 falling in both matches with a score of 1-6. 

The Seahawks would host Stonehill at the Milstein Family Tennis Center at Columbia's Baker Field Complex. In doubles, freshman Naseem Rahman and sophomore Sebatian Dobson earned the first win over the Skyhawks with a score of 6-3. 

In singles, senior Rodrigo Perez secured a victory in three sets with a score of 6-4, 2-6, 6-3. Dobson battled his way to a third set in his first singles match but fell with a score of 6-7, 6-2, 5-10.

Against the Spartans, the Seahawks won two out of three doubles matches. Perez and Dobson earned the first victory with a score of 6-3 before Rahman and sophomore Kunsh Moolchandani defeated Norfolk State's Vladisav Gorbatenko and Deniz Okyay with a score of 7-5. 

The Seahawks dropped six singles matches. 

Next up, the Green and White will host FDU on Friday, March 1 at the College of Staten Island (CSI) indoor tennis courts.
