This Week In Wagner Athletics; 11 Teams In Action As Women’s Lacrosse Hosts Home Opener On Wednesday

Staten Island, NY - Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events this week.

Men's Basketball
- The Seahawks will be home for two consecutive games against Central Connecticut and LIU on Thursday and Sunday, with Sunday's game airing nationally on CBSSN at noon.
- Junior Melvin Council Jr. was named a Northeast Conference (NEC) Prime Performer after averaging 17.5 points per game and hitting the clutch game-winner in Thursday's game at Saint Francis U.

Women's Basketball
- The Seahawks will play two road games this week as they will travel to New Britain, CT on Thursday to take on CCSU before heading to Brooklyn, NY to take on LIU on Saturday.
- Wagner went 0-2 last week after losses to Saint Francis U and Sacred Heart.

Baseball
- The Seahawks will take on a second straight ranked opponent this weekend in #8 Texas A&M. Games are scheduled for Friday at 6:00 pm, Saturday at 2:00 pm and Sunday at 1:00pm.
- This past weekend the team went 0-3 versus #15 North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC.
- Freshman Connor Roche had a breakout performance on Friday, recording an RBI single for his first collegiate hit before hitting a solo home run in his next at-bat.

Men's Lacrosse
- Wagner will travel to Fairfield, CT on Saturday to take on Fairfield at 12:00 pm.
- Last week, Wagner dropped its home opener to Le Moyne, 17-6.

Women's Lacrosse
- Wagner will welcome Lafayette to Hameline Field for its home opener on Wednesday at 6:00 pm.
- Last week, the Seahawks dropped their season opener at Drexel, 15-3.

Women's Water Polo
- Wagner will participate in the Harvard Invitational beginning with contests against Brown and Santa Clara on Saturday, the Seahawks will finish the weekend with matches against Mercyhurst and Harvard on Sunday.
-  The Seahawks are currently riding a 10-game winning streak.

Swimming & Diving
- The Green & White are set to compete in the NEC Championship from Tuesday to Saturday in Geneva, OH, at the Spire Institute.
- Last season the women placed second while the men placed fourth. Both teams will be vying for their respective championship trophies after impressive regular season results, both team and individual.

Track & Field
- The Seahawks will compete at the NEC Championships on Monday before competing in the Fast Track Last Chance at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island on Friday.
Fencing
- The Seahawks will compete in the Shark Tank Challenge on Sunday, which is hosted by LIU, to conclude their regular season.

Men's Tennis
- The Seahawks will host Stonehill and Norfolk State on Friday.

Women's Tennis
- Wagner will welcome Norfolk State on Friday before traveling to Newark, NJ on Saturday to take on NJIT.
