Women’s Soccer Welcomes Seven Newcomers For The 2025 Season

Staten Island, NY - Head Coach Phil Casella of the Wagner women's soccer team has announced the addition of seven newcomers to the team for the 2025 season.

 "Today is a special day. We have seven wonderful student athletes who have committed to continuing our standards here for Wagner Soccer," Casella commented. "They are unbelievable student-athletes but more importantly fantastic people who are going to add to our family in so many ways. We can't wait to have them join us in our pursuit of a championship!"

Danielle Ciuci - F/MF - Stratford, CT

Danielle was a four-year varsity starter at Bunnell High School. She led her team in goals in her final three seasons and was a team captain her junior and senior years. Ciuci was also named to the Southwest Conference All-Colonial Division team in 2022 & 2023 and the first team in 2024.

Vanessa Lovisa - CM - Caledon, Ontario

Vanessa was a team captain at Mayfield Secondary School. Lovisa also played club soccer for the Toronto Blizzard.

Madison Hayes - MF/F - North Haledon, NJ

Madison was a two-time NJSIAA State Champion and two-time North Sectional Champion at Immaculate Heart Academy. She also won the Bergen County Championship in 2023 and was named a team captain. Hayes was also named a GA Northeast Talent ID selection.
  Abby Connors - F - Sparta, NJ

Abby was a four-year letter winner at Sparta High School. She was a two-time All-NJAC performer and a 2023 team Golden Boot winner. She won the Sectional State Championship in 2021 and the HWS Tri-County Championship in 2023. During her high school career she tallied 30 goals and 30 assists.

Kaylee Benson - F - Higganum, CT

Kaylee was a four-year varsity starter at Mercy High School. She won two Class M State Championships along with two Southern Connecticut Conference (SCC) titles. 

Riley Frederick - F - Newburgh, NY

Riley was a three-time Section IX qualifier at Newburgh Free Academy. She was also a three-time Class AAA All-Star. Frederick also won the NYE State Cup in 2022 and 2023 with Force FC ECRL.


Ashley Smith - F/MF - Howell, NJ

Ashley was a two-time Shore Conference finalist at Howell High School. She also was named a team captain during her career. Smith was a three sport athlete, participating in soccer, basketball and track & field. In basketball, Smith won a State Sectional Championship for the first time in school history.
