This Week In Wagner Athletics; Eight Teams In Action As Football Gets Set To Host Senior Day On Saturday

Staten Island, NY - Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week.
 

Football

- Wagner will finish the 2024 season with a Senior Day matchup against LIU on Saturday at noon.

Men's Basketball

- The Seahawks will travel to Boston University on Tuesday night, before taking on Springfield on Saturday at 4:00 pm at the Spiro Sports Center

Men's Fencing

- Wagner competed at the NYU Meet this past weekend. . 

- Freshman Daniel Ojeda Buitrago took down LIU's MO Elsayed (bronze medalist in 2024 Paris Olympics).

- The Seahawks will be returning to action on Saturday, November 23 to compete in the NFC Varsity Meet.

 

Men's Swimming & Diving

- Wagner will head to Kingston, RI to compete at the Harold Anderson Invitational from Thursday, November to Sunday, November 24

- Last time out, the Seahawks defeated the Manhattan Jaspers, 217-40.

 

Men's Water Polo

- The fourth seeded Seahawks will begin MAWPC postseason action this weekend against the fifth seeded Bucknell Bison at the MAWPC Championships in Annapolis, MD.

- Wagner split the regular season series with Bucknell 1-1, most recently picking up a 18-16 victory on November 10.

 

Women's Basketball 

- Most recently, Wagner dropped to 1-2 on the young season with a loss to Navy on Thursday. 

- The Seahawks will welcome the Northeastern Huskies to the Spiro Sports Center on Friday, November 22, with tip-off set for 7:00 pm.

Women's Fencing

- Wagner competed at the NYU Meet this past weekend. 

- The Seahawks beat NEC member LIU, 17-9, while falling against St. Johns, 19-8, and NYU, 20-7.

- The Green & White will be returning to action on Saturday, November 23 as they will be heading to Providence, RI to compete in the NFC Varsity Meet.

 

Women's Swimming & Diving

- Wagner will travel to Kingston, RI to compete at the Harold Anderson Invitational from Thursday, November to Sunday, November 24.

- Last time out, the Seahawks defeated the Manhattan Jaspers, 222-32.
