This Week In Wagner Athletics; Ten Teams In Action As Football, Men’s Basketball, And Women’s Basketball Are Set To Compete On The Road

Staten Island, NY - Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week.

 

Football

- The Seahawks will travel to Duquesne for the penultimate game of the season on Saturday at noon.

- Wagner is 13th in the country in total defense, allowing just 297.9 yards per game. Wagner is ninth nationally in team passing efficiency on defense at 111.66 and sits 29th nationally in red zone defense at 74.3%. 

- Senior Rickey Spruill  recently jumped into ninth place on Wagner's all-time rushing list, as he sits at 2,092 career rushing yards.

Men's Basketball 

- The Seahawks will take on two Big East foes in nationally televised contests this week, as Wagner travels to St. John's on Wednesday at 6:30 pm before traveling to Seton Hall on Saturday at noon. Both games will air on FS2. 

- Wagner picked up a 94-52 victory over Manor College on Saturday, marking the Seahawks' seventh straight home-opening win.

Men's Cross Country 

- The Wagner men's cross country team will head to Hopkinton, NH for the NCAA East Regional meet. 

- Last time out at the NEC Championships, the Seahawks placed second and had five runners named All-NEC.

 

Men's Fencing

- The Seahawks will be traveling to New York City to participate in the NYU Meet on Sunday.

- Wagner currently holds a record 4-2 for the season.

 

Women's Basketball 

- The Seahawks will travel to Annapolis, MD for a matchup with Navy on Thursday, November 14 at 7:00 pm.

- Last week, Wagner split its two games, 1-1, as the Green & White took down the Saint Elizabeth Eagles before dropping their road contest at Seton Hall.

Women's Bowling 

- The Green & White will make their way to Binghamton, NY on Friday, November 15 to kick off the first NEC Meet of the season.

- The tournament will feature both baker and individual matches and will conclude on Sunday, November 17.

- The Seahawks placed fifth at the Bowl for the Cure tournament last weekend, winning one out of five baker matches.

 

Women's Cross Country

- The Wagner women's cross country team will head to Hopkinton, NH for the NCAA East Regional meet.

- Last time out at the NEC Championships, the Seahawks placed third and had three runners named All-NEC. 

 

Women's Fencing

- The Seahawks will be traveling to New York City to participate in the NYU Meet on Sunday.

- Wagner currently holds a 5-1 record of the season.
