Queens, NY - The Wagner College men's tennis team took on Holy Cross at the site of the U.S. Open on Saturday at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens.

The Seahawks managed a doubles point in their second straight dual match of the season, sweeping all three matches against the Crusaders.
Playing their first doubles match together, graduate student Carlos Rodriguez Gonzalez and freshman Joshua Zhao made quick work of their matchup, winning 6-3.
In singles play, the Green and White took four out of six matches, headlined by graduate student Antoine Nivault who won (6-4, 7-5) the match-clincher in a long fought battle with Teddy Callery of Holy Cross.
Junior Pablo Rodriguez Gonzalez (6-1, 5-7, 10-4), and freshmen Eddie Schmidt (6-2, 6-3) and Vibhu Challagundla (6-4, 1-6, 10-6) all won their singles matches, with Rodriguez Gonzalez and Challagundla each winning in the match tiebreaker.
All newcomers, Antoine Nivault, Eddie Schmidt, Pablo Rodriguez Gonzalez, Gabriele Zugarelli, and Vibhu Challagundla went undefeated in their debuts at their new home courts.
Next up, the Seahawks are set to compete at the ITA Regional Tournament beginning October 17 in Philadelphia, with a chance to qualify for ITA Sectionals at the commencement of the fall season.
