Women’s Soccer Concludes Regular Season With 1-0 Victory Over LIU

Brookville, NY - The Wagner women's soccer team wrapped up regular season play with a 1-0 victory over LIU Thursday afternoon.

The Seahawks added to their program record seven conference wins as they look forward to NEC (Northeast Conference) tournament action.

The Green & White controlled the tempo in the first half tallying 10 shots compared to the Sharks seven but neither team would find the net.

In the 81st minute, the Seahawks cracked the scoreboard. Freshman Alana Arjona found the back of the goal with a beautifully placed shot past the LIU goalkeeper for a 1-0 lead that would stand up for the remainder of the contest.

In the month of October, the Seahawks have allowed just two goals in 7 games with the last one coming in a 4-1 victory over CCSU on October 10.

Senior Sam Hughes adds to her career 20 total shutouts and her eighth of the season while recording two saves.

#2 Wagner will host #3 FDU on Thursday November 7 at 7:00 PM at Hameline Field. This marks the first time in program history the Seahawks will host an NEC Tournament Semifinal game.
