Bridgewater, NJ - Members of the Wagner Seahawks track & field team, freshman Jack Mason and senior Ryan Lane, were named to multiple Northeast Conference (NEC) track & field weekly honors for their performances of the Wagner College Invitational, announced by the conference on Tuesday.
For Lane, this is his second time receiving the award in only three meets this season. Lane was named the conference's 'Field Athlete of the Week' on Thursday, December 7 after breaking the Wagner College indoor track & field school record in the long jump at the Fast Track Season Opener.
This past weekend, Lane placed first, out of 12 participants, in the long jump with a distance of 6.97m. The Rochester, NH native also finished second in the high jump, with a cleared height of 1.96m. Lane's mark in the high jump is a personal best for him.
In NEC competition, Lane possesses the best high jump and third-best long jump marks of the indoor season.
Freshman Jack Mason has been awarded his third consecutive NEC 'Rookie of the Week' honor. Mason was also named as the 'Track Athlete of the Week' after posting a conference-best 14.37m in the triple jump and 7.09 60m dash at the Wagner College Shootout.
This past weekend, Mason set a personal best in the 60m dash, finishing in a blazing 7.05, placing himself tied-for-third in the event with senior Jason Marchese. Mason also stood alone atop five other competitors in the triple jump, finishing with a mark of 13.73m.
Overall, Mason has earned three 'Rookie of the Week' honors and one 'Track Athlete of the Week' honor in his first three meets of competition.
In NEC play, Mason holds the best triple jump distance of the indoor season, with a mark of 14.37m. Mason also has the twelfth-best 60m dash time of the indoor season, with a time of 7.05.

Angelina Olah were tabbed as conference 'Prime Performers' for their showings over the weekend.
Marchese placed first in the 200m dash and tied-for-third in the 60m dash. Marchese's time in the 200m dash was 21.72. Sokoll placed third in the mile with a time of 4:11.06. Chambers earned first place in the 400m dash, clocking in at a time of 59.27. Olah concluded the 800m run in 2:18.15, for fourth place out of 15 runners.
Next up, the Seahawks will compete in the Penn 10 meet on Saturday, January 13 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
