Bronx, NY – Graduate student quarterback
Steven Krajewski threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn't enough, as the Wagner College football team fell 46-16 at Fordham on Saturday night.
In his first start as a Seahawk, Krajewski became the first Wagner quarterback since Luke Massei in 2017 to throw for more than 300 yards, 131 of which went to junior
Trevor Shorter, who finished with five catches and a score on the night.
After the Rams got on the board first, Wagner answered with a 35-yard field goal by freshman
Ryan Liszner, which cut the deficit to 7-3 going into the second quarter.
Wagner's first touchdown of the season came in the third quarter, as Krajewski found junior running back
Rickey Spruill over the middle for the 17-yard score.
In the fourth, Krajewski found Shorter for Wagner's second touchdown of the night on an 18-yard connection.
The Rams scored 13 points apiece in the second, third, and fourth quarter to earn the victory, as quarterback C.J. Montes led Fordham with 319 yards and five touchdowns.
Graduate student captain John GIoia led the Green and White defensively with 11 total tackles, including one tackles for loss.
Next up, the Seahawks will take on Navy on Saturday, September 9, with kickoff set for 3:30 pm on CBS Sports Network.
