Staten Island, NY - Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week.
Football
- The Seahawks will play Merrimack in this year's home opener as part of Wagner Weekend festivities on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
- Wagner opened Northeast Conference (NEC) play with a 17-10 victory over Sacred Heart last Saturday.Â
- Linebacker Junior Wily and kicker Ryan Liszner earned NEC Defensive and Special Teams Player of the Week honors, respectively.

Field Hockey
- The Seahawks will travel to Lewisburg, PA to take on Bucknell on Friday, September 22 at 4:00 pm.Wagner will then play host to Lehigh on Sunday, September 24 at 12:00 pm.
- In its last contest, the Seahawks dropped a non-conference contest at #6 Syracuse on Sunday, September 17. Junior Rebecca Desiderio scored her first career goal while sophomore goalkeeper Sam Black stopped 11 shots.
Women's Soccer
- The Seahawks will host Merrimack on Thursday, September 21 at 7:00 pm.
- Head coach Phil Casella's squad will then travel to the nation's capital to compete against Howard on Sunday, September 24 at 1:00 pm.
- Wagner picked up a 2-0 victory over LIU on Sunday, September 17 to start 1-0 in conference play. Freshman Jess Maraia scored two goals within five minutes of each other to propel the Seahawks to victory. Junior Sam Hughes also collected her third clean sheet of the season.
Women's Golf
- The Seahawks will kick off their 2023 fall season in Rehoboth, DE in the Delaware State Fall Invitational. The tournament will begin on Monday, September 18 and conclude on Tuesday, September 19. This is the first fall event for head coach Rick Perine, who was named head coach in the spring.
Men's Tennis

Men's tennis will host the Wagner Clay Court Invitational this Friday and Saturday, September 22-23.

Women's Tennis
- Last weekend, the Seahawks opened its season at the Columbia Invitational with a record of 1-9 in singles and 0-6 in doubles.Â
- Women's tennis will head to Long Branch, NJ to take on the Monmouth Invitational this Friday, September 22 at 1:00PM.
