Staten Island, NY - Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week.
Men's Lacrosse
- Wagner will welcome Sacred Heart to Hameline Field on Saturday, April 8 at 12:00 pm.
- Senior goalkeeper Danny Brady stopped 25 shots in two games last week while recording his 500th career save against LIU on March 29.
Softball
- The Seahawks will host five straight home games in four days, starting with a midweek doubleheader against Manhattan on Wednesday.
- Wagner will play host to LIU on Friday and Saturday in NEC action.
- The Green and White enter the week with a 3-2 record at home, earning a sweep over Stonehill two weeks ago.
Women's Water Polo
- The Seahawks will travel to Villanova, PA to take on Marist on Friday, April 7 before taking on Iona on Saturday, April 8.
- Wagner recorded a 3-1 record last week as all three wins were conference victories. The defending MAAC champions are 8-0 in conference play with five games remaining in the regular season.
Men's Golf
- The Seahawks will compete today in the Columbia Spring Invitational at the Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, PA.
- This past Thursday the team tied Manhattan, 4.5-4.5, in a match play event.
Men's Tennis
- Wagner will host Hampton University as the Seahawks will host their last home game at the CSI Tennis Courts. First serve is set for 2:00 pm this Tuesday.
- The Seahawks will travel to Monmouth for a Friday dual against the Hawks. This match is set for April 7th, at 2:00 pm.
- The Green & White will conclude their regular season on Sunday, April 9th with a dual against Coppin State.
- Wagner men's tennis has the most Northeast Conference (NEC) wins the program has seen since the 2018-2019 season.
Women's Tennis
- Wagner will host their final home regular season dual of the season, Tuesday, April 4th, as the Hampton Pirates roll into the CSI Tennis Courts. First serve is set for 2:00 pm.
- This dual will be the first time that the Wagner Seahawks will face Hampton University in women's tennis program history.
- The Seahawks will travel to Baltimore, MD for a dual against the Eagles of Coppin State. This match is set for Sunday, April 9th.
Baseball
- The Green & White will travel to North Andover, MA for a three-game set against Merrimack. The first game is set for Thursday, April 6 at 3:00 pm, followed by games on Friday, April 7 at 1:00 pm and Saturday, April 8 at 1:00 pm.
- Senior David Melfi is currently recognized as one of the top catchers in the country in the 2023 Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award Watch List.
- Junior Chris Conniff has been recognized by D1Baseball.com as one of the Top 50 second basemen in the country.
Track & Field
- Both the men's and women's track & field teams will compete in the Metropolitan Championships on Randall's Island. This meet will see fifteen other schools facing off against one another on Friday, April 7th.
- Both teams will travel to Fairfax, VA as they compete in the Dalton Ebanks Invitational on Saturday, April 8th, hosted by George Mason.
- The men's Green & White continues to produce event winners; at Monmouth, senior Jean Uminski won the 1500 meter run, and fellow senior Dominic Palermo was victorious in the 3000 meter steeplechase this past weekend at William & Mary.
