Staten Island, NY - Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for this week.
Women's Lacrosse
- Wagner will host its final regular season home game of the 2023 season when they welcome Howard to Hameline Field on Saturday, ?April 22 at 12:00 pm.
- Prior to the game against Howard, the Seahawks will honor their seniors.
- Last week, Wagner went 1-1 after falling to Sacred Heart on Wednesday, April 12 before defeating Merrimack 16-6 on Saturday, April 15.
- The Seahawks sit at 5-1 in NEC play with two regular season games remaining.
Men's Lacrosse
- Wagner will host its final regular season game of the 2023 season when they welcome Manhattan to Hameline Field on Saturday, April 22 at 6:00 pm.
- Prior to the game against Manhattan, the Seahawks will honor its seniors.
- Last week, Wagner went 1-1 after falling to VMI on Wednesday, April 12 before defeating Canisiu 10-8 on Saturday, April 15.
- In two games last week, senior goalkeeper Danny Brady tallied 32 saves.Â
Baseball
- The Seahawks will end their five-game homestand with a rematch against Seton Hall on Wednesday, April 19 at 3:30 pm. They last faced the Pirates on March 29 when they lost 8-5.
- The team will finish the week in Fairfield, CT for a three-game series against Sacred Heart, with the first game taking place on Friday, April 20 at 3:00 pm.
- Last week the Seahawks went 2-2 with wins over Iona and UMES. The two losses also came against UMES, resulting in just Wagner's second NEC series loss of the season.
- Junior Chris Conniff was the standout as he collected eight hits across the four games, including a 4-5, two home run showing against Iona.Â
Softball
-The Seahawks will travel to Saint Peter's on Wednesday before playing Sacred Heart this weekend for Senior Day.
- Saturday's series marks the penultimate series in NEC regular season play.Â
- On Saturday, the Seahawks will honor Bianca Worthy, Alexa Garcia, Karoline Policarpio, and Haley Peaslee in a pregame ceremony.
- Sophomore Justine Carranza earned NEC Prime Performer honors for her efforts against Iona and MerrimackÂ
Track & Field
- Both Wagner men's and women's track & field will travel to Charlottesville, VA for the UVA Challenge on Friday, April 21st.
- The very next day, the Seahaws will head to New Brunswick, NJ for the Rutgers Relays on Saturday, April 22nd.Â
- The Seahawks have received both of the men's NEC Rookie of the Week honors thus far, with Alex Taddeo and Dario Sina de la Fuente bringing home the only two awards presented this season.
Women's Golf
- The Seahawks will compete in the NEC Championships starting Sunday, April 23. The three day event will finish on Tuesday, April 25 as Wagner looks to end its season on a high note.
- Sophomore Ximena de la Garza tied for sixth place this past weekend at the Navy Spring Invitational, shooting a 149 (+5) overall.
