Philadelphia, PA - Both Wagner men's and women's tennis teams traveled to Temple on Sunday for a match against the Owls.
In women's play, junior Tara Dakic could not defeat Temple's Jamie Wei in for the #1 singles match, losing in straight sets.
Junior Gabrielle Perraudin battled well against Temple junior Evie Wei, eventually losing with scores of 2-6, 3-6. Sophomore Paula Ysabelle Uy also dropped her match to freshman Thamara Kawaratani, but not after showing some restraint, 0-6, 3-6.
In doubles competition, Paula Ysabelle Uy and freshman Jasmine Lin lost to Evie Wei and sophomore Veronika Kulhava. As well as the duo of Tara Dakic and Gabrielle Perraudin not being able to get the win against Jamie Wei and freshman Maiko Uchijima.
The women's Owls would prevail 7-0 over the Seahawks.
For the men's side, Temple senior Marin Delmas won the #1 singles over graduate student Philip Lynch in straight sets.
Senior Tejasvi Mehra was able to fight back in the first set, but would eventually lose 2-6, 0-6.
Fellow senior Omar Loutfy dropped his match to Owl graduate student Thibault Frumholz after battling 0-6, 3-6.
For the men's doubles, Philip Lynch and sophomore Jordan Hunte could not defeat junior Leo Raquin and Thibault Frumholz.
Juniors Odeda Arazza and Aryan Gupta met up against Owl's sophomore El Tawil Hussein and graduate student Louis Gorregues, but would lose 2-6.
Wagner men's tennis would suffer a 7-0 defeat to Temple.
Next for both the men's and women's Seahawks, the women's team will travel to South Orange, NJ for a 6:00 pm match at Seton Hall on Saturday. The men's team will host Boston University this Sunday starting at 6:00 pm.
