This Week In Wagner Athletics; Seven Teams In Action As Football Hosts Senior Day

Staten Island, NY - Here is a look at the Wagner Athletics events for the week.

Football
- The Seahawks will host Post University on Senior Day on Saturday to wrap up the 2023 season.
- Jaylen Bonelli was named the NEC Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season, while Rickey Spruill was named an NEC Prime Performer.

Men's Basketball
- The Seahawks will travel to Rhode Island on Tuesday before taking on Seton Hall on Saturday. 
- Wagner earned a victory over Molloy in the Seahawks' home-opener.

Women's Basketball
- The Seahawks will travel to Newark, NJ to take on NJIT on Saturday, November 18 at 1:00 pm.
- Last week the Seahawks opened their season with an 86-43 loss at Rutgers on November 9. Wagner then dropped a non-conference contest at Hofstra in overtime. Junior Paige Lyons tallied 14 third quarter points against Hofstra to bring Wagner back into the contest after being down 10 at halftime.

Men's Water Polo
- The Seahawks will play in the first round of the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo (MAWPC) Tournament in Lewisburg, PA on Friday, November 17 at 7:30 pm.
- Wagner will face-off against the George Washington Revolutionaries, who the Seahawks went 1-1 against during the regular season.
- The Green & White head into the postseason as the #4 seed, concluding with an overall record of 16-13, and a conference record of 7-5.

Swimming & Diving
- The Green & White will close out their fall schedule with a three-day event in Kingston, RI. They will take part in the Harold Anderson Invite from Friday, November 17 to Sunday, November 19.
- This past weekend both the men's and women's teams picked up victories at LIU, with the men's team clinching their first win against a Division I opponent in program history. 

Bowling
- Wagner participated in the first NEC Meet of the year at Bowlero North Brunswick over the weekend, where the Seahawks picked up one win against Niagara in traditional scoring.
- The Green & White will travel to Baltimore, MD for the Coppin State Invite from Saturday, November 18 to Sunday, November 19.

Fencing
- The men's and women's fencing program will conclude its fall schedule on Sunday, November 19 at the Northeast Fencing Conference Varsity Meet, hosted by Boston College.
- Freshman Flavio Vinci and junior Katerina Cervenkova led their respective teams in wins this past weekend at the Vassar Invitational with 16 and 15 wins, respectively.
