Philadelphia, PA | New York, NY - The Wagner College men's and women's tennis teams competed at the ITA Northeast Regionals from Friday, October 6 to Sunday, October 8. The men's tournament was hosted by University of Pennsylvania, while the women's tournament was hosted by Columbia.
In the first round, sophomore Kunsh Moolchandani fell to Philip Hilble of Long Island University (6-0, 6-1). Senior
Rodrigo Perez dropped his first match to Arjun Sriram of Fairleigh Dickinson University (6-2, 6-3). Sophomore Sebatian Dobson and freshman
Naseem Rahman also lost in the first round of the tournament.
Freshman David Krasner began the first round with a bye, and then would go on to win the second round match against Jayden Templeman of Columbia (6-2, 6-4). In round three, Krasner would advance due to a withdrawal from his opponent. Krasner's run would come to an end in the fourth round as he dropped his match against Henry Ruger of Columbia (6-1, 6-3).
For the women, senior Tara Dakic fell to Anlin Xie of Fordham (6-0, 6-4), while graduate student Emma Zakordoniec fell to Mia Palladino of Stony Brook (6-0, 6-0). Junior Paula Ysabelle Uy dropped her first match against Diana Zuba of Saint Francis U (6-4, 6-2). Senior Gabrielle Perraudin won her first match of the day against Thamara Frasser Kawaratani of Temple University (6-2, 4-6, 12-10).
Perraudin dropped her second round match to Mouna Bouzgarrou of Saint John's University (6-3, 6-0).
The Seahawks concluded their fall season with a dual match against Colgate, October 15 and will continue competition next Spring.
