Piscataway, NJ - The Wagner College football team dropped its first road game of the 2022 season by a score of 66-7 at Big 10 member Rutgers on Saturday afternoon.
In front of 47,621 people in attendance at SHI stadium, Wagner got on the board in the second quarter, as senior
Nick Kargman hit junior
Jayvin Little for an eight-yard touchdown.
Kargman finished the day with 92 yards through the air, as junior
Naiem Simmons was once again the leading receiver with four catches for 21 yards.
Defensively, junior
Christian Davis led the way with eight total tackles along with an interception, as he picked off Rutgers' Gavin Wimsatt in the second quarter.
Senior
Coby Calvin contributed seven tackles, while sophomore
Nick Karika added a team-high two tackles for loss.
The Scarlet Knights jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back to improve to 2-0 on the season.
Quarterback Evan Simon led Rutgers with 156 yards through the air and two touchdowns, with Samuel Brown V adding two touchdowns on the ground.
The Seahawks will start Northeast Conference (NEC) play next week, when the Seahawks welcome Saint Francis U to Grymes Hill, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 pm on NECFrontRow.
