Highlights
Staten Island, NY – The Wagner women's lacrosse team defeated Bryant in the regular season finale from Hameline Field, 12-11, on Saturday afternoon.
Prior to the contest the Seahawks celebrated 10 student-athletes for their commitment and contribution to the Wagner College women's lacrosse program.
The Bulldogs opened the game on a 5-1 run through the first 6:45 of the opening stanza, senior
Kasey Dorney tallied the lone goal for Wagner during the run. Sophomore
Kelsey Scheidel cut the Bryant lead to 5-2 before the team's shared one goal each the rest of the quarter. Senior
Ally Turner rounded out the three goal scorers for Wagner in the opening stanza.
Trailing 6-3 heading to the second stanza, junior
Megan Greco got on the Seahawks on the board in the second before the Bulldogs responded with a goal of their own. Both teams only found the back of the net once in the second quarter as the game entered the halftime intermission with Bryant holding a 7-4 advantage over Wagner.
Wagner outscored Bryant 3-2 in the third quarter as
Kasey Dorney and
Ally Turner each tallied their second goal of the contest while graduate student
Victoria Tucci found the back of the net with 46 seconds remaining in the stanza as the game entered the final 15 minutes with Bryant holding a 9-7 advantage.
The Bulldogs started the scoring in the final stanza before the Seahawks rattled off a 4-0 run from four different goal scorers.

Victoria Tucci and
Stefani Peluso each tallied goals, Peluso's goal knotted the game at 10.
Ally Turner completed her hat trick with 3:26 remaining in the contest to give Wagner an 11-10 lead, its first lead of the game. With 1:18 remaining, the Bulldogs tied the game before
Kasey Dorney secured her second game-winning goal in the last three games as she found the back of the net with 27 second remaining to propel Wagner to its third consecutive victory to close out the regular season.
Kasey Dorney tallied three of her four goals on free-position attempts while tallying three ground balls. Senior
Aileen Hannan caused four turnovers while tallying four draw controls. Senior goalkeeper
Lauren DiStefano stopped 10 out of 21 shots faced in the contest.
The loss gave the Bulldogs its lone loss in conference play as they entered the contest with a perfect 7-0 mark.
The Seahawks will begin the quest for the Northeast Conference (NEC) championship on when they take on the defending champions Mount St. Mary's on May 5 at 4:00 P.M.
