North Andover, MA – The Wagner women's lacrosse team dropped a Northeast Conference (NEC) contest to Merrimack, 10-7, on Saturday afternoon.
The Seahawks opened the contest on a 3-0 run in the first seven minutes of the contest as three different goal scorers chipped in for Wagner. Sophomore
Kelsey Scheidel got the Seahawks on the board 2:18 into the contest before senior

Stefani Peluso chipped in to extend the Wagner lead. Merrimack cut the Wagner lead to 3-1 seconds after Peluso's goal as
Kelsey Scheidel tallied her second goal of the frame with 1:57 remaining to push the Wagner lead to 4-1 after the first quarter.
Merrimack outscored Wagner 4-0 in the second quarter to claim a 5-4 lead at the halftime intermission, two of the four goals came with under 60 seconds remaining in the half.
The Warriors carried the momentum into the third quarter as they outscored the Seahawks 3-1 as junior
Sarah Shaughnessy tallied the lone goal of the third for Wagner.
With an 8-5 lead heading into the final stanza, the Warriors tallied the first two goals of the quarter before
Stefani Peluso found the back of the net for the second time in the contest. Junior
Emily Wesoky also tallied a goal in the quarter as the 2-0 run cut the deficit to 10-7 before the Warriors walked away with the victory.
Kelsey Scheidel tallied two goals and has scored six goals in the last two contests while
Emily Wesoky tallied one goal and dished out one assist.
Kasey Dorney scored one goal on eight shots to go along with three ground balls while classmate
Aileen Hannan tallied three ground balls, four draw controls, and four caused turnovers. Senior goalkeeper
Lauren DiStefano stopped 15 shots to go along with seven ground balls.
