Highlights
Post Game Interviews

Staten Island, NY -
The Wagner women's lacrosse team claimed their first Northeast Conference (NEC) victory of the season, 16-5 over Central Connecticut State on Saturday afternoon.

The Seahawks put a stamp on the contest when they outscored the Blue Devils 5-1 in the opening stanza. Wagner opened the contest on a 5-0 run thanks in part to two goals from graduate student Madeline Seims and senior Maria Henwood while junior Sarah Shaughnessy tallied the final goal of the stanza.

The Seahawks carried their momentum into the second quarter and outscored the Blue Devils 3-2 behind goals from junior Casey Haas, sophomore Kelsey Scheidel, and graduate student Stefani Peluso as the Green & White took an 8-3 advantage into the intermission.

Five goals in the third quarter opened up a 13-5 lead as senior Kasey Dorney scored twice while Madeline Seims, junior Megan Greco, and freshman Katie Siverson tallied goals.

Stefani Peluso tallied three goals in the fourth quarter to give the Seahawks a convincing 16-5 victory. Her second goal of the quarter was the 100th career point for the Branchburg, NJ native.

Madeline Seims tallied a hat trick for Wagner as Kasey Dorney found the back of the net twice and dished out one assist while tallying six ground balls and three caused turnovers. Senior Aileen Hannan also caused three turnovers and scooped six ground balls.

The Seahawks will be back in action on Wednesday, March 30 to take on NEC opponent LIU at 1:00 P.M.
