Riverdale, NY – The Wagner women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference match 14-11 to Manhattan College on Wednesday afternoon.

Kasey Dorney continued the Wagner run to open the second stanza to extend the Green & White lead to 5-1 before graduate student
Victoria Tucci tallied her lone goal of the afternoon to extend the lead to 6-1. The first six goals for Wagner were scored by six different goal scorers.

Lauren DiStefano stopped two free-position attempts from the Jaspers to preserve Wagner's lead in the second quarter as the Seahawks took an 8-3 lead into the intermission.
The Jaspers opened the second half on a 2-0 run before
Kasey Dorney tallied her third goal of the afternoon on a free-position attempt to extend the Wagner lead to 9-5. Following the Dorney goal,
Katie Siverson found the back of the net for the second time on the day and team-leading fifth time on the season to give the Green & White a 10-5 lead. The Jaspers closed the second half on a 4-0 run to bring the score to 10-9 heading into the final 15 minutes of the contest.
Manhattan put a stamp on the contest in the fourth quarter when they extended the run to 8-0 and took a 13-10 lead. Sophomore
Kelsey Scheidel tallied her first goal of the season to bring the deficit down to 13-11. The hosts added one more goal late in the fourth to preserve a 14-11 victory.
The Seahawks will be back in action against the University of Vermont on Sunday, February 27 at noon.
