Hackensack, NJ - The Wagner women's basketball team dropped the final game of their four-game road swing, 73-53, at Fairleigh Dickinson on Monday afternoon.

Seniors Emilija Krista Grava, Zhaneia Thybulle, and Kem Nwabudu combined to score 20 of Wagner's 53 points on a combined 8 of 27 from the field.

Fairleigh Dickinson (8-8; 5-1 NEC) had three players score in double-digits, led by Chloe Wilson, who notched a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds.

Aniya Bell and Rachael Niles each had 13 points for the Knights.

Inside-The-Boxscore...
  • With today's setback, Wagner falls out of the top spot in the league standings, now one game behind the Knights.
  • For the first time since 2009, Wagner was held without a made three-pointer, going 0 of 8 from long distance.
  • The Seahawks were outrebounded 42-22.
  • Wagner, however, forced 18 FDU mishaps but only managed to score seven points of those turnovers.

HOW IT HAPPENED…
First Quarter…
  • Both teams exchanged points early on in the contest.
  • Jackson came off the bench and asserted herself in the paint, as she was able to trim the FDU lead down to two, 8-6, on a well-executed, low-post move.
  • The Knights would score five of the next seven points to lead 13-8, as Wilson was able to hit both her attempts from the line.
  • Thybulle cut into the deficit with a driving layup before the Knights closed out the quarter on a 6-2 run in building a 19-12 advantage.

Second Quarter…
  • Wilson opened the second quarter by converting on the traditional three-point play from the line that pushed the lead up to ten, 22-12, at the 9:42 mark.
  • Jackson was able to give the visitors a spurt with a three straight points before Wilson again hit from the line, as FDU claimed a 24-15 lead.
  • The Knights embarked on a 11-4 run over a 3:17 span that saw their lead increase to 35-19 with under four minutes left before halftime.
  • Cowan was able to find a seam in the Knights' defense and make the running layup that put an end to the FDU run.
  • The Seahawks closed out the quarter outscoring FDU, 7-3, but the Knights entered the break with a 10-point lead, 38-28.
  • Thybulle was able to end the quarter with a driving layup just before the horn sounded.

Third Quarter…
  • Wagner got out on the run to open the third quarter as Thybulle pulled down the defensive rebound and spotted Heyward, who was able to make the contested layup, as the FDU lead dwindled to eight, 38-30.
  • Following a second-chance bucket from Scott, Cowan connected on a pair from the line, bringing the FDU lead back into single digits.
  • Over the final 6:12, FDU out scores Wagner 15-9 in taking a 14-point lead into the final quarter, 53-39.

Fourth Quarter…
  • FDU opened the final stanza scoring seven of the first nine points to add to their lead before Nwabudu was able to convert on the scoop layup.
  • The Knights scored 13 of the game's final 22 points, with 11 of those coming from the free-throw line in giving the Seahawks their second straight defeat.
