Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College softball team rallied to get within one run of LIU in game two of Wednesday's doubleheader, but the Seahawks fell just short, losing 4-3 after dropping game one by a score of 12-2.
During the second game of the afternoon, junior
Eve Harvey recorded her 100th career strikeout of her career and 50th of the season.
With the two losses, Wagner falls to 9-13 overall and 5-13 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play.

The Sharks scored 12 runs on 15 hits in five innings to earn the victory.

The Sharks took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning and extended it to 4-0 in the third, but the Seahawks answered in the fifth inning to start their comeback attempt.

Alexis Silinonte, sophomore Alexis Garcia loaded the bases on a bunt single.

Nora Conway drew the third walk of the inning to put the Seahawks on the board.
Next up,
Keaghan Ward made the most out of her opportunity, hitting a two-run single to center field, cutting the deficit to 4-3, but it wasn't enough, as LIU hung on for the victory.
In the circle, Harvey suffered the loss after tossing the complete game, striking out three batters in the process.
Next up, the Seahawks will host Mount St. Mary's on Saturday and Sunday.
