Wagner-Saint Francis U Highlights...

Inside-The-Boxscore...
  • With today's win and the awarded victory due to the cancellation of the Mount St. Mary's contest, Wagner moves to 2-0 to start the conference season for the first time since the 1998-99 season, when the Seahawks jumped out to a 4-0 league start.
    • That season the Green & White earned victories over St. Francis Brooklyn, LIU, Robert Morris, and Saint Francis U before the win streak snapped at then-league member, UMBC (1/2/99).
    • The 1998-99 team, coached by Tara Gallagher, finished the year 16-12 and 13-7 in league contests.
  • The Seahawks are now 6-1 on the season when three players score in double-figures.
  • The Seahawks turned 13 Red Flash turnovers into 11 points.
  • SFU outrebounded the Green & White, 43-32.
  • For the tenth time in 11 games, Wagner has held an opponent to under 30.0 shooting from three-point range, as Saint Francis U was held to 29.4 percent.
    • Wagner entered today's contest ranked seventh in the nation in three-point field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to just 22.8 percent shooting.

HOW IT HAPPENED…
First Quarter…
  • Wagner was firing on all cylinders, jumping out to a 15-4 lead over the first four minutes of the quarter.

  • Thybulle was fouled and made the front end of the two-shot foul, which pushed the lead back to seven, 63-56, as SFU corralled the rebound and called a timeout to advance the ball.
  • The Seahawks swarmed Dapaa, who forced up a three from the wing that couldn't find its mark, as Pitt came down with the rebound and found Thybulle, who advanced the ball for Wagner.
  • Thybulle was fouled by Maxwell and this time, hit both from the line, putting the game away as Wagner remains undefeated at the Spiro Sports Center this season.
