Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College football team concluded its season with a 44-0 loss to Duquesne on Saturday at Hameline Field.
Prior to kickoff, the Seahawks recognized their seniors in a pregame ceremony.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Dukes scored 30 points in the second quarter, seven in the third, and seven in the fourth to earn the victory.
Freshman
Rickey Spruill led the Seahawks with 74 yards on the ground, including a 40-yard burst in the first half.
Junior
Nicholas Cartwright-Atkins led Wagner with 35 receiving yards, which came on a spectacular catch along the right sideline in the second quarter.
Defensively, Wagner was once again led by senior
Titus Leo, who combine for eight tackles on the day, while senior
Matt Ansell added seven stops.
Sophomore
Travis Laster came up with the first interception of his Seahawk career in the second half.
As a team, the Seahawks had at least one interception in their last four games, the longest streak since finishing the 2018 season with four straight games with an interception.
Duquesne was led by running back Garrett Owens, who rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns, while quarterback Darius Perrantes threw for 241 yards and three scores on the afternoon.
