Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College men's tennis team concluded the fall season with a 5-4 triumph over the New Jersey City University (NJCU) Gothic Knights on Sunday evening at the College of Staten Island Tennis Courts.

Rodrigo Perez defeated Alejandro Ley/Jordi Julia, 8-3, at No. 1. In No. 2 doubles,

Lucas Darling outlasted the NJCU pairing of Nico Teynie/Gerard Loras, 8-7 (7-4).
NJCU recorded their first win of the day, as Ryan Weiss/Olaf de Lange came from behind and won, 8-7 (7-5) against the Seahawk pairing of
Aryan Gupta/
Jordan Hunte.
With a 2-1 lead heading into singles play, Wagner earned its first singles win as junior
Abhinav Magow defeated Loras, 6-2; 6-3. NJCU got its first singles win as Julia posted a 6-2; 6-2 victory at No. 5.
Perez posted a 6-4; 6-1 win over de Lange at No. 3 singles as the Green & White went up 4-2 in the match. Ley kept the Gothic Knights in the match with a 6-4; 6-2 victory at No. 2
The Seahawks claimed the win at No. 4 as Loutfy rallied back to defeat Weiss, 4-6; 6-2; 6-2.
The men's tennis team will resume play in the spring.
