Miami, FL – Former two-sport standout
Greg Senat made history on Sunday night, becoming the first Wagner player ever to go on and win the Super Bowl as part of the Kansas City Chiefs' 31-20 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
Senat was picked up by the Chiefs earlier this season after being drafted by Baltimore in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft and spending his first NFL season with the Ravens. The offensive tackle spent the majority of the season on the injured reserve list.
A four-year member of the Seahawk men's basketball team, Senat went on football scholarship prior to the 2016 season and became a fixture on the Seahawk offensive line, starting all 22 games that he played in during his two-year gridiron career
In 2016-17, the Long Island native helped the Wagner hoops team to a 16-14 season as a senior before competing solely in football during the 2017 season as a fifth-year senior.
Senat was the second Seahawk ever to be selected in the NFL draft, when he was selected, joining Rich Kotite, who was selected in the 18th round of the 1965 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.
Wagner was also the only Northeast Conference (NEC) school with two players in the NFL during the 2019-2020 season in Senat and Buffalo Bills linebacker Julian Stanford.
As a team, the Chiefs erased a 10-point deficit for the third straight playoff game behind Super Bowl MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns to earn their first Lombardi Trophy in 50 years.
